Whoa, guy. There was no ethnic cleansing, and there was no buying of a mercenary army.





It has had an effect because there are enough people there right now to keep an eye almost every square inch of the country.





Don't put down the military just because you don't like the GOP.





That article is rubbish - it does not take into account common military strategy or an increased detention rate of AIF. Biased, uninformed sources are no good for anyone.Why does McSame keep saying the Surge worked when it was ethnic cleansing + Us buying a mercenary Army?
I usually stay as far away from this section as I can. There is so much hatred spewed here that it almost makes me despair.





However, when you malign the military, you set my teeth on edge. Who do you think it is that, through the years, has fought to give you the freedom to sit on your tush and complain about anything and everything? If you can find some logic, you'll realize it happens to be our rather wonderful military. Do I think that everything that every single member of the military from all eras has done is perfect? No, I'm smart enough not to look for perfection this side of the veil.





I've known quite a few vets and am darn proud of them. I am also grateful to them for the fact that they fight for me when I can't do it myself. I happen to know that freedom is not free and never has been. There is always someone who has to do the fighting. Our VOLUNTEER army does just that. And, no, they do NOT take credit for (as though encouraging) or engage in ethnic cleansing...unless, of course, you live in a land ruled by one tyrant or another and not America (or other free nation).





***Edit: An article is not a debate. If you were trying to debate, you would have at least presented that (lame) article and another that says something entirely different. But, thank you for making my point about this particular section of Y!A. Name calling is an ugly thing and just what I'd expect from someone who won't tolerate opposing views.

Also, McCain was *wrong* even about the surge. He originally wanted like 100,000 more troups, but compromised with Bush and whined that it wouldn't work.





And the 10% increase in troops didn't do anything anyway.
It did work. The only people that complained about it. Was the news people and the traitors of America. All three of them worked together.





Anybody with any since. Ought to no. That you can do a lot more with more people than just a few.
Because it changed the subject on a topic Obama would win at.





If the surge worked or not, it's old news and i wanted to hear what he wants to do next
