I *have* read where certain prescription medicine can make your colon muscles/ system basically near shut down, or work in a very slowed manner

Do these colon cleanse pills help you lose weight?
Just remember, the only weight you will lose is fecal matter, not fat.

Some are misinformed about that.

I would try purchasing herbs individually rather than purchasing a pill with all of them included. You do not know how fresh they are.Research them before you try it.

Try looking up colonics in your area as well.

Good luck.Do these colon cleanse pills help you lose weight?
yes it was proven to however I can not recommend cleansing pills as there are various manufacturers of the product and some may differ in ingredients and their quantity.

Natural products are a much cheaper and safer route to go. If you were to make broccoli, cauliflower, or cabbage a part of your diet just once a week, it will sufficiently cleanse your colon.

Men are more likely to develop colon cancer in their life because many do not like vegetables and avoid these foods, but sacrificing once a week isn't so bad and a great precaution.

If you do opt for pill form, I would recommend you seek the advice of a professional at a health food store.
The Rx drugs that screw up your colon muscles are synthesized from natural herbs so do not believe for a second that Senns, Cascara Sagrada, and magnesium hydroxide are safer than laxatives for weight loss, or colon cleansing.

You will lose weight initially on laxatives (herbs, vitamins, minerals, or Rx drugs) because you will poop your brains out. After 3 days of taking them if you try to quit using them, you will have a hard time going to the bathroom and will need more. In other words, they are habit-forming, and there is nothing more miserable than being constipated and dependent on laxatives.

Exercise, eat healthy (fiber, protein, and good fats; low sugar, low junk), drink water, and control stress. That's the only magic answer. Having said that, some people do benefit from using a cleanse to help them get jumpstarted on their lifestyle changes. I suggest gentle stuff (in moderation) for just 5 days or the recommended amount on the label.

The only thing that any ';colon cleanse'; product is good for is to make money for the vendor. Save your money.
